Austin Center RADIATION Oncology

At the Austin Center for Radiation Oncology (ACFRO), we specialize in radiation therapy for men with prostate cancer. In fact, we’re a high-volume prostate cancer center which is a significant benefit to our patients. That’s because studies continue to show that high volume centers have better patient outcomes. (We encourage you to research the evidence). In addition, we’re a high volume prostate cancer radiation center that is close to home. We are privileged to serve patients from all across Central Texas.

Over the years, we have treated 2,200+ men with prostate cancer, so our team knows that nuances in radiation plans make a difference. Most of our staff members have been with ACFRO for many years – from our reception, to our medical staff, and providers.  This commitment speaks to our team’s mission of working together to offer patients exemplary care, in a comfortable and friendly environment. It also gives our patients the confidence that our team has a thorough understanding of what they are going through.

At ACFRO, we are currently utilizing a Linear Accelerator when administering radiation therapy. In the summer of 2019, we will be adding a Halcyon Radiation Therapy System. Giving patients access to two state-of-the-art devices ensures efficiency in treatments and technical precision. Two radiation machines also gives our patients more flexibility in treatment times, including securing slots during hours when traffic is not as heavy.

As part of Urology Austin, the Austin Center for Radiation Oncology is able to integrate patient medical charts with their referring Urologist. Our providers also have a close working relationship with Urology Austin providers so that patient progress is closely monitored.

At ACFRO, we offer radiation patients expertise, integration, and convenience. If you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, we encourage you to contact our office to schedule a consultation . They personally spend time with each patient to help them understand their cancer and how radiation therapy works. Thank you for choosing the Austin Center for Radiation Oncology!
